What is anybody's plug and play replacement recommendation for the std bulb in the Meanies Headlamp?
Got it apart and figure this might be a good time to change it out. Are HIDs or LEDs a better way to go? Not looking to change anything electrical.
Thanks!

I'm thinking of going with something like the Daymaker, there's quite a selection to choose. Price is a factor, you can get "Made in America" versions for a couple of hundred $ or you can buy the Chinese original (the one's they sell without the little"Made in USA" sticker) for about $50. I've been reading lots of reviews and LED is the way to go, far better light quality and more of it. If you have deep pockets then you can get JW Speaker adaptive LED units, very nice but expensive. I won't use halogen lamps again, in fact I have very few old style incandescent bulbs around now, LED is so much better and long lasting.

I'm using a HID headlight and the light is so much better than stock. I can actually see at night, it is bright. The kit I got was from Sportiva off of ebay and its a 6000k color

I have an LED and like it a lot. Very bright, very white. It came on the bike when I bought it, so not sure of the make but it looks like the one Cycle Gear has for around $70. With a couple of cable ties the installation isn't even too obnoxious. I've also used the Sylvania Silver H4 replacement, which is also a big improvement over stock.

When I google that, I get 500 hits but Amazon says Sylvania no longer sells the Silver H4

Hagger, before I buy that kit. what is involved in installation? From what I can see, you have to splice the relay kit which feeds the HID into your existing wires and then mount the relay? Then you're good to go right? Thanks.
PS. The fact I'm also installing the Fire & Steel Light Bar won't affect this will it?

But if you're so inclined....

I can't find the hid I have on ebay but it is the 35 watt flex kit. It is high low, the bulb pivots for high beam. It directs the light higher, bright as hell, never an issue 6000 color. It is the sportiva kit as well.

Only issue is whether or not you can fit everything in headlight bucket, I could not so I mounted the relay on the right side of steering head. From what i remember mine was plug and play but you may have to wire in a power wire, it was 5 or 6 years ago lol. It should not effect your light bar either.

I got a F&S light bar with some damage and had to redo it, I ended up sticking the relay under the bar. Since it has a fused 10+ AMP wire coming from the battery to power the lights and only a light wire tapped into the low-beam to power the relay, there's no significant load added to the headlight circuit.
