Crazy having both the Meanie and the Raider. I really do love them both but for completely different reasons. The Raider is faster than I thought it was. It is pretty much a brute force blunt instrument used judiciously and only after you get a true feel for it's capabilities. It's significantly longer than the Meanie and fits my frame perfectly. It has a great riding position and is a joy full out on the open road. For a big powerful Bike, it handles pretty well, but it ain't no Meanie in the curves and never will be. The size of the two bikes together is pretty amazing: I never felt scrunched up on the Meanie until after I spent some time on the Raider. Yet, after I put the Avon's on the Meanie with the 190 rear tire and 120 front, the handling became even more incredible. I can throw that Meanie into curves with abandon that I'd never attempt on the Raider. Believe it or not, when I want to just have fun out riding, the Meanie is still my ride of choice. When I want hammer HD pretenders into the ground, the Raider is a surgical instrument. I am pretty damned happy with those 2 in the stable right now. Of course, the Meanie next year will have Raider style power. It will get even more interesting!

For me personally, the one overall characteristic of the Meanie that always keeps me coming back for more is the handling. That statement tells me you might need a set of forward controls.

Texas, the Meanie IS going to require some adjustments, especially after spending the winter in Pickering. I'm going to want to be able to hang on much better than is currently necessary!

Note to Speed:
The Avon Phenomenon is sweeping Raider Nation. a HIGH percentage of Forum and FB Group members (including myself) are switching out the rear 210's for Avon Cobra 240's. The Raider was designed to carry a 240 throughout testing until the bean counters cut it back to a 210. Once the 240 was installed, the speedometer error all stock Raiders come with disappeared.
In my case, switching from the Metzelers to the Avons was a HUGE step up in handling! Most owners are amazed at the improvement in Raider handling with just the switch to Avon. You were way out in front of this curve Speed!
PS I got Avons now on the Meanie as well. Couldn't be happier.
