We will be changing the header picture the first of each month with a members scoot pic. this will stay up for the month. So if ya got good pics of you ride please post in our scoots section so I can post. If by chance you have difficulties posting pics, email them to me I will post them for ya. Again using tapatalk is the easiest way to post pics, and until I get the funds to upgrade forum to allow larger file size, this is the best way to go. Thanks again to all the loyal members we have on here so far. We are doing great !!!!

I have the coolest scoot (hummm, .... it's true, lol) Oh hell nooo, I have the coolest scoot ever and the most high tech! Just check out some of my genius inspired mods such as the front fender scoop for high speed lift, quik-change gas tank, air flow seating, along with my rotary post-it-note accessory on the handlebars. Try not to be too jealous, it took many years to create to perfection this awe-inspiring work of art beauty.

It's coming along good now. Test for on the tank. Hoping for a start before Sunday Very nice! I see ya been doing lots of cool stuff to the front end to. VTX headlight, it's extended forward, did you use one of the brackets Paul made? Fat fork tubes...were they polished and you painted them? Reaper fender added, painted the lower tube housings, plus the rotors and calipers. And those handlebars are way too tall to be stock, plus they're black. We want details!

"Haha yes, been very busy. Well, the vtx mount was indeed fuller made. Fat fork tubes were polished. I cut the uppers to use with the stock turn signals then powdercoated them. Fork lowers I had powdercoated with the frame and swingarm. Reaper fender I did a couple years ago...all capliers were rebuilt and powdercoated by me. And the handlebars are custom one offs by B&R handlebars to my specs. 1.5 inch and powdercoated black. 2.5" rise and 3" pullback over stock. Not cheap but soooo worth it. Bill at B&R did a great job on them."
Hulluva fine job there Foreman. She looks like she will kick some serious ass!

Haha yes, been very busy. Well, the vtx mount was indeed fuller made. From what I have read from other modaholics, it seemed like the VTX headlight always needed to be aimed down more after installing it on a Meanie. Was that your experience or did it come out right? Wondering if Paul may have put a little downward slant on the front of the brackets he made.Fat fork tubes were polished. I cut the uppers to use with the stock turn signals then powdercoated them. Gutsy move with the cutting but if ya know you will always be running the stock turn signals then it makes sense. I remember Speed having to use a smaller bolt when adapting the turns to the fat fork tubes. It certainly helps that you made your tubes black too, otherwise the black turn signal mounts would stick out like a sore thumb on a polished set.
Fork lowers I had powdercoated with the frame and swingarm. Reaper fender I did a couple years ago...all capliers were rebuilt and powdercoated by me. Wow, talk about a total rebuild, you had everything apart. And the handlebars are custom one offs by B&R handlebars to my specs. 1.5 inch and powdercoated black. 2.5" rise and 3" pullback over stock. Not cheap but soooo worth it. Bill at B&R did a great job on them. They look awesome. "Not cheap but soooo worth it." True words for sure. I don't know how "not cheap" they were, but considering so many others go through several sets of bars before finding a set they can live with, the price difference between the two ways of finding a set might be close or even less for a custom made set. Online shopping for bars, the info listed for rise and pullback can be really confusing and totally different from what one was expecting when mounting the new set of bars.
Anyone wanting to change bars definitely needs to gather info from the experience and knowledge of others before ordering a set. The route you took, if available, would be the one I would personally recommend.
Kudos to ya for all the well thought out excellent choices you made.

Not cheap as in just North of 5 beans....it almost made me sick to do, but I couldn't find what I wanted. This ensures I got what I wanted....and I'm very happy with the results.

" This ensures I got what I wanted....and I'm very happy with the results." Those last words you said is what makes it 120% worth what you paid, especially when dealing with a set of one piece drag bars with welded risers and a lot of pullback. I still remember the nightmare 'leftfoot' went through trying to find a set of bars, buying set after set of bars online only to get them, mount them on the bike, and then be totally frustrated once again that they were nowhere even close to what he wanted.

Thanks Texas, I've actually been watching the contrast cut set on my eBay watch list but I don't much like the contrast cut version - I think the plain as per Foreman's bike is much better. If there are none now available I may look at making my own.

. Thanks Texas, I've actually been watching the contrast cut set on my eBay watch list but I don't much like the contrast cut version - I think the plain as per Foreman's bike is much better. If there are none now available I may look at making my own. Can be easily enough done with a little ingenuity especially since you are going with a black finish. Listed the lengths above for you for the stock set of trees and forks.
As you also notice, the outside diameter is just a hair shy of readily available 2.5" aluminum tubing. One economical example would be 2.5" Straight Aluminum Turbo Intercooler Intake Pipe Tube. www.ebay.com/itm/2-5-Straight-Aluminum-Turbo-Intercooler-Intake-Pipe-Tube-/252861273856?hash=item3adfb4d700:g:tbAAAOSwzaJYBSfM&vxp=mtr These would work for the lowers since the wall thickness of the tubes can't be much more than a 1/16" thick because of the fork tubes being belled out at the bottom. They will also work for the uppers which can have thicker walls if needed. Pauls are approx. 3/16" (0.1875) (4.7625mm). The tubes being drilled and tapped to use set screws will not only hold them in place but will also help you align them.
Hope the detailed info helps you...and if it does, you will owe us details along with pictures of your set when you make them.

Excellent info, many thanks. I was thinking of using stock aluminium tubing and cutting to the lengths needed and set grub screws or something like silicon sealant to fix in position and seal. Cheers 🍻

Cheers 🍻 LOL I had to look up what a grub screw was. Found out it means "blind set screw" in the UK. So grub screw = set screw, same thing. I would be definitely hesitant to use silicone sealant. I don't know how things go for you but if I did that, something would surely happen making it necessary to take the forks back apart.

You're probably right, Sod's Law would work to prove that having sealed something in position I'd need to undo it again, set screws are possibly better
(PS, American or English English, two great nations divided by a common language :-) )

I've just bought a one metre length of 2.5" 16swg aluminium piping to make my own fat fork covers. I'll be getting it cut to length and then ceramic coated to match the other satin black finished parts (handlebars, exhausts etc). Now I need to get some set screws..... Yet another job I'm making for myself :-)

@administrators - maybe the thread should be split as it seems that this thread was originally to vote on the "Ride of the Month"? Sorry for derailing the thread with my musings on Fat Fork covers. It is technically impossible to derail any thread that appears in this Forum Lagger. For that to be the case, one would have to assume that any thread contained herein was actually ON the rails to start with. Carry on!
