I've acquired a VN crankshaft as part of a pile of parts I picked up. Does anyone know if there's a quick and easy way to identify exactly which version it is? Does it have any part numbers on the crankshaft? (I don't actually have access to it at the moment so can't measure it) I'm particularly interested to know how to correctly identify the VN1600 Crankshaft.
Thanks for your help guys

I assume the answer to my question is either "no" or "don't know" Never mind, once my digital vernier arrives* I'll be able to get some proper accurate measurements - I'll post results here in case someone else needs this info in the future.
*been waiting 5 weeks now!

I use bikebandit.com to look up parts breakdowns and numbers for research. It's a good resource and its free I'm not sure how to distinguish them unless they have a corresponding part number on it.

I must of missed the ball on this one. but the easiest way is to measure the machined area on the left side after the splines. I will get ya the numbers this evening. the 1500 is smaller at that point than the 1600. 1600 flywheel will fit on 1500 but 1500 will not fit on 1600. Although I would not advise that because of no added support from the machined surface.

I ordered a new digital vernier weeks back and it still hasn't arrived
