Nice work. Did you acid strip them?
I'm waiting on delivery of a bottle of muriatic acid to do the same job before I paint them up

Adhesion was very good

Adhesion was very good Time will tell :-) I've also never painted over chrome before, I did some research (=Google searches) on various forums, the wisdom seemed to be that it's a hit or miss affair, it might stick or it might not. I decided to strip the chrome since it's not in the best condition anyway before I paint them. I did consider getting them powder or cerakote coated but for the cost of doing that I can paint them and repaint them several times over.

Looks good. I'm already in trouble for using the dishwasher as a parts cleaner so I'm looking around for an old oven to use to bake bike bits. I must say, the Bosch Dishwasher did an excellent job cleaning up barrels!

PS did you remove the "window" from the oil check hole before baking? I was worried about whether it would handle the oven temperatures - not sure if it's plastic or glass and whether the seal would melt.

PPS - you're either up very early or go to bed really late - there's a 5 or 6 hour time difference between us

Fwiw I use Tapatalk to post pics Thanks, I can't get Tapatalk for my windows phone, I'm using the laptop mostly. I think that to post pics here I have to host them somewhere like Photobucket as the insert image calls for an URL for the pics

At first glance I thought I was looking at Meanie parts that had been involved in a nuclear blast.
