I'm running out of storage space with all the bike bits in the garage so to save some space (from an enormous box) I've trial fitted the fenders and the seat - not final yet but I like the look, it's becoming a bike now! I'm looking forward to getting the tank finished as that will be the end of bodywork and painting (for now anyway!) Oh and by the way, I can now 100% confirm that VN900 rear lamps are identical to Meanstreak - despite having a different KAWA part number, the OEM manufacturer uses the same part number for both models.

Even more impressive is how this Meanie was (and is) being born. You're rocking this one out of the park Lagger!

Even more impressive is how this Meanie was (and is) being born. You're rocking this one out of the park Lagger! You're too kind Kahn. I'm just going slow and steady and trying to avoid mistakes or damaging anything. This is only the second bike I've ever worked on, my previous ride (Vulcan 88) was also bought as a project but I didn't need to do anywhere near as much work. This time around I'm doing a from ground-up build, it's a lot of fun but has it's downsides such as I don't have a bike to ride yet. It's also not the cheapest way to get a Meanie but I will have a bike built how I want it, and I'll have the peace of mind knowing how everything fits together properly and knowing it's been done correctly - I have one simple rule "No bodging allowed". That means no short cuts, no low quality chinese crap on the bike, always use decent materials, proper parts, proper methods, follow the manuals and annoy the heck out of people on forums by asking lots of questions :-) One fun part is slowly being able to pass on some of my accumulated know-how to others attempting similar stuff, I firmly believe in passing the knowledge around and us all helping each other out
