I installed a couple of cam chain tensioner extenders on my Mean Streak this weekend. I still have the original air intake and its crossover tube on my bike – and I still have the original air intake and its crossover tube on my bike after installing the tensioner extenders. The crossover tube is definitely in the way and is a pain to work around. I loosened the right side (throttle body) mounting plate and removed the crossover tube mounting screws to create a little bit of wiggle room for the crossover tube. It didn’t give me as much room as I had hoped, but it ended up being just enough. The pic below just shows how the crossover tube basically surrounds the front cylinder tensioner - and this is with me holding it up "out of the way." I followed Gadget's instructions (and these are more recent and have more pictures) and didn’t have any real problems. All I will say is that when you are reassembling a rensioner and you are pushing the bearings down into the body and screwing in the lock bolt, don’t let go until the lock bolt is fully seated. The crossover tube definitely makes working on the front tensioner a pain in the butt, but just take your time and eventually you’ll get everything reassembled. Even with my fat fingers I was finally able to get the top bolt on the front tensioner tight. And I think the skin that used to be on the back of my left index finger will probably grow back. The last pic just shows both tensioners after the new extenders were installed. That's an old tensioner ring between the two new ones. And "yes" those new extenders are Paul Fuller (Bad Ace Billet) creations. He makes nice stuff. Cheers! Tom
