Merry Christmas to all Wishing everyone health, wealth and safe rides in 2017 Right back at ya Phil as well as to all the Brothers & Sisters of the V-Twin! Allow me to bore you with a short story. I had just picked up the Mean Streak the night before and had been riding pretty much all day. Time for gas so I stopped in at the local Irving outlet here. I'm standing there filling it when this large, loud fulll-boat Harley slowly rumbles up to the pump next to me. I'm trying to pretend I don't notice (lol). The guy gets off his hog and is huge...approx 6'4" hadda be 300+lbs. On his vest across his chest is a patch that says, "SGT-AT-ARMS". Even though I'm trying hard to ignore all this, he looks over and slowly makes his way to my bike. Looks it over up and down...looks at me and says, "What kind of a bike is that?" I said Hi, smiled and responded, "This here is a 1600cc Kawasaki Mean Streak I just picked up yesterday and she does love to run". He laughed, broke out in a big smile, extended his hand and said, "Welcome to the V-Twin Brotherhood my friend!" We talked about our bikes and stuff and he asked what I use for the FI system to keep it clean. I told him nothing yet, so he goes into one of his bags, pulls out a bottle of FI Treament and says he uses this every fill up, just a a squirt or two per tank and it keeps the injectors clean. I thanked him for the tip so then he gives me the entire bottle saying "I got plenty more and this'll get you started". That Man showed me something about the Brotherhood that will stick with me. What was my first full day with the Meanie turned out to be a great day in general. Merry Christmas You Meanie & Metric V-Twin Throttle Hogs!

Same to you all, and a similar story (think I might have mentioned it in passing before....)
When I couldn't start the bike a few weeks ago due to the torque limiter missing some teeth, I had to stop for gas on the way home. Intended to leave it running but killed it (and cursed a bit). As I went in to pay for gas there were 3 or 4 MC members pulling in to fill up (didn't notice if they were officers). Thinking "great, this'll be embarrassing, they'll get back at every HD reliability joke ever made..."
I just sucked it up after filling and walked her to the far side of the station where there was a little slope. Looked to the right and there was an incline going up maybe 50 yards so I started pushing uphill. Got about 1/2 way and a couple of these guys pulled up to help. Got her up the slope easily with a couple of extra pushers and roll-started her down hill. No comments or worries about the metric bike, just "have a good day" and "thanks a lot".
I know there are some who really look down on the imports but generally find that bikers do look out for each other regardless.
