I'm always looking at online resources for the Meanies and other bikes. It keeps me up to date on trends and prices in general. But quite often I will come across some older, low mileage models that I've always wanted to have around. Damn, some of them are almost in striking distance. I would love to have a Yamaha V-Max and Honda Magna (either 750 or 1100) lying around for those occasional times when you just want to pound it out as hard as you (reasonably and safely) can. Those bikes were built for basically one thing and still tried to remain anchored in the Cruiser style. Would you just LOOK at this 1995 Honda Magna V4 750cc motorcycle. 4,400 original miles. Near Mint Condition Oh well, just a thought.

I always check Craig's list for any Meanies that happen to be floating around. Currently there are three that really caught my eye. I think the owners are gonna be sitting on them for some time thought when you see the prices. First Up? 2003 Vulcan 1500cc custom built.. for trade sale - $6500 2003 Vulcan mean streak 1500cc many upgrades and chrome . Custom made swing arm 300 rear tire sport bike front end .. too much to list Looking to trade for a awd SUV preferable a Crv or RAV4 2004 and up.. please text or email offers ... 2002 kawasaki vulcan meanstreak 1500 - $5200 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan meanstreak 1500. 16xxx miles. this bike is far from stock. must see this bike and hear it run. beautiful bike, very loud, very powerful. engine was kept stock so very dependable. fuel injected. definitely don't need to sell. I love this bike and I get compliments everywhere I go, just thinking about something different. 5200 obo. possible trades if you have something I like with equal value. And last but not least: MEAN STREAK LOW AND MEAN CUSTOM - $8500 Bike is a 2005 Mean Streak, totally customized from top to bottom. I did the Low and Mean conversion when the bike was about 3 years old and had about 5000 mi on it. Bike is still like new and only has 10500 mi now. Bike is lowered and lengthened with low and mean triple tree and suspension kit. Has forward controls and fat and low handle bars. Custom shaped fenders with a high quality custom flame paint job. Bike has pipes and a power commander module. Has new fat tires front and back. This bike has to many custom parts for me to remember them all. Has to be seen to understand all that's gone into this bike. I don't ride is as much I should, and it deserves to be seen at bike nights!! The Bikes look fine, but those prices are likely gonna keep 'em in the garage. Any opinions on these Custom Meanies?

Opinions...well, they are certainly interesting to look at. I always enjoy seeing what others have done and in some ways, how well they have done it. I appreciate their inspiration, ingenuity and the effort they put in to bring forth their personal vision of a custom bike. It helps the rest of us with our ideas and choices.
I look at many types and brands of bikes and what has been done to them to gather inspiration and ideas. Even when I know I will never get around to implementing 99.9% of those ideas into my personal ride, it's still fun to look and as the thread title says "daydream".

When I saw the one I ended up buying it was advertised as *Rare 2004 Suzuki Marauder 1600* for only $5500. The guy genuinely believed it was some kind of collectors item. I came in quite a bit lower than asking

I came in quite a bit lower than asking My Seller knew what he had and wanted to keep it but he had just bought a brand new Road King and had no room to store it. He started out asking $6500. After many back-an-forths, I got him slightly under $4K. I think he just wanted to get rid of me after everything!

I actually had been looking at my bike at a used car lot show room for 6 months, the used car lot was a customer of my shop and I had been lusting over the bike almost daily but it was the middle of winter so in May of 2010 I finally asked what he would sell it to me for. 2003 Mean Streak 3600 miles $4000. I bought the bike on looks alone and never rode it until I had paid for it lol, turns out it was blind luck to get such a fantastic bike. Bike was bone stock except for the V & H long shots pipes which I have replaced. Seems like the mods are never ending but love this bike and its ever changing face. Some day it will get paint and a little more power.

I ended up doing an even swap for my old suburban that I didn't drive any more, worked out well for me since I got it out of the driveway and got a good bike

Patience definitely helps....i saw mine on craigslist for $6k, then he put it on ebay. After a couple months watching it, he kept going down on price and no one bought it because he lived in the middle of nowhere. Once down to $3500, i offered him $3k...he countered with $3250 and it was mine

The prices you have over there in the USA are way cheaper than here in the UK. The cheapest Meanie I've seen here recently was a just imported bike from the the US. Not yet registered in the UK, sold on eBay for jsut over £3,000. That's about US$3,700 at today's rate which sounds cheap but there's a catch - the bike isn't registered in the UK and to get it road legal you'd have to pay import tax based on an estimated value and Value Added Tax at 20%. Then you'd have to get it through the road test (MOT) and maybe need to get it specially checked (=$$) then you need to actually register it (=more $$) so your final on the road price would be easy over £4000 (say around $5000) and this was an older Meanie as well. Nice bike but still a chunk of money. That's one of the reasons why I'm going to te DIY method to build mine from frame and sourced parts, I can't afford to go out and just buy a bike. I'm fixing up my '95 BUBF to sell and use the funds from that to finance the Meanstreak

Damned Progressives love to take our money then go study the mating ritual of the tse-tse fly. I guess the Socialists are worldwide.
