Ok well I purchased a HF, cheapo pressure media blaster to use for soda blasting. I tried soda in my siphon feed sand blaster with so, so results so bought this. They sell a retro kit to convert to soda but thought it was not needed. Well soda isn't supposed to harm wood, plastic, fiberglass, etc. I tried it on one of my side covers, and a table leg on a table I will be Redoing, Hmmmm, not good. Messed up the plastic side cover and also the wood. So I have not put the conversion kit on yet but I thought I could control the amount of soda and air pressure with out the kit, nope. I was trying to control the soda while having too much air pressure, I think. So I will install the kit and try again.

Ok got the retro kit on. It has a ceramic orifice in the ( t) to restrict media volume. Now I can open the media valve fully and only adjust the throttle valve New kit Original

Hope it works. I've been thinking that a blaster would make shorter work of some of the sanding I've been doing. Never tried it before.

Yep, I hated using my sand/glass blaster. That shit is very bad for ya. Soda is the way to go, but not cheap. $39 for 50lbs bags. There is three different grits. It is environmentally safe, will not corrode metal as some say. We will see it goes Tuesday

My last one did too until it didnt lol. Used it on my truck one afternoon and put it away for the night and the next morning I was at HF getting a replacement cause it would not lift the truck again. The jack I replaced was not HF.
You have all the cool toys lol

The jack I replaced was not HF. You have all the cool toys lol That's the thing about hydraulics, they can give out. I'm sure the commercial ones get a lot more care than our home units. My HF lift is getting finicky about lifting now also.

Every shop I've been in does it just like I do now if it aint broke it's fine. Always use jack stands as hydraulics can give out at any time without notice.

Well soda blasted a bit this morning, worked pretty well, done most of the swing arm, worked perfectly, tried on the side cover I messed up before, nope would take all day and I would go broke buying soda. Bc/cc too tough for it. It does however kick ass on aluminum. Did one head half assed cleaned very good, kicks ass on carbon. No paint left on it either lol. Tried on fuel tank, same results, not good. I guess I will chemical strip. I don't need to take down to base metal but want to get all previous paint off so to have a clean slate.
