Have to think about this.... inlandempire.craigslist.org/mcy/5913885406.htmlThere's a couple of 900's at the local shop for around 4K, and a guy I know in San Diego wants to sell his 900 for around that. Not sure of years, but fairly recent. Also a Nomad ('09, I think) at the shop for 7K. Of course, there's an '02 engine on Ebay for a grand, and head/rocker combos for around $265 shipped each. Whatever I do at this point is going to cost money, the question is whether to put more money into this engine, replace the engine, or just replace the bike.

Thats one hell of a buy on the meanstreak. But it, part out the other. Use all your good stuff on blue one sell the take offs. I know a guy in Ohio that may be interested in your engine 😨

LOL, I know a guy in Ohio who can have it!
I was thinking that also. While it's an opportunity to switch bikes, I really like the Streak. I'm not sure the 900 is enough for all the highway riding I do (though I know guys do it, one I know goes regularly from So. Cal to AZ bike week and sometimes Sturgis)
I'd probably go for the Nomad if i hadn't seen that streak, I think I'll see if I can check it out this weekend.

There's a dealer local to me that has a 2006 meanstreak with 6k original. All stock, they said they'd let it go for $3800.

I looked into the 900's once. They are good bikes. On the Kawi forum, some guys did complain about the performance on the hiway and some didn't. I'd say the complainers outnumbered the non complainers. ... 55/45.

No pic in the ad but it's a 2006 Black and Chrome: vermont.craigslist.org/mcy/5908022741.htmlYou could have the thing shipped for not too much. Damn Man, this thing ain't hardly broken in! $2500. I'd help out any way I could if you were interested. Hell, if I STILL weren't enmeshed with this ****ing divorce, I's consider putting it to bed in MY garage. (but it ain't happening)

Dang, that's a heck of a deal for that low mileage. Same with Foreman's dealer even. I wonder what the shipping would be.... Even better would be to fly one way and ride it back, if I had that kind of time

I'll see what I can find out from folks who specialize in shipping cars and bikes. I could go look at the thing for you and make sure there are no visible issues with it.

Lancaster, California (93536). Not sure just yet, but curious. O-K, here's what I've done: I listed the particulars (no names just city and zip) on a Shipping web site for Bikes. This site will go out and get me a number of quotes from Bike Tranporters. The shipping could be anywhere from $350 (low) to $850 (high) and we're likely going to be somewhere in between, like the $450-550 range. So that's where it stands. I will get you the exact quote when it comes in. I guess the question you'll have to answer is that with the shipping cost, is it something you want to do. Again, if you're really interested, I'll travel up there and look at it for you....pics description and everything. Would love to see you stay in a Meanie, and this one sounds pretty cherry. -Kahn

Wow, thanks for all that. I did contact the seller of the one here, Hopefully I can get out this weekend to look at it. The one in your area sure sounds great also, I really like the low mileage. I was thinking $500-ish for shipping based on the Ebay ones I've seen.
That's great info, thanks for checking. I'll let you all know.

You can often find Meanies with real low mileage up here in the Northeast simply because of the limited riding season. My 2008 had just over 7K on the clock when I picked her up in late July. I drove it home in a rainstorm with lots of road construction going on and you've never seen a happier camper in all your years! !! PS It wasn't raining when we got back to the house and here is one very Happy Camper:

So, a brief update since I know you're all waiting with baited breath. I've talked to the seller out here, got a good vibe. Seems real, and owned up to a couple of things that I might not have known- mainly that he replaced the engine due to a bad oil pump shaft bushing. Said Kawi hadn't heard of the problem before and I believe it. I haven't either. Ends up sort of a wash, the engine still has about 30K on it now. Hoped to get out there on Sunday, but we're scheduled to get hammered by rain this weekend. Disappointed, but I'll have to wait another week. Going to go out with my stepson (he rides a HD but otherwise I value his opinion ). Kahn, I'm still thinking of the one in VT if this doesn't pan out.

We're at the ready, but I've not been happy with the shipping estimates I've received so far, so I'll need to do more digging there. Let me know Lee!

Well, don't work too hard just yet. Who knows, I might have to come out there and get it! Hmmm, a bucket-list trip cross-country?
Who knows, you might see me there. Can't miss me, I'll be the guy on your doorstep with an overnight bag LOL.
Definitely have to swing through Ohio on the way!

Nice, like the paint also.
I do have a line on one a couple of hours away, also $4K with even lower mileage. Planning on going out there Sat, just need to finalize time & location. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The "Good-lookin'" one or the "Bargain" one? Both are good deals, I'll keep these links handy!
I like getting one a little newer, but gotta say I miss that gold. That was my original color before the accident. It's definitely distinctive.
I'll let you know how it goes.

Dallas is about 5 hours from me, I live near New Braunfels up on canyon lake
