Ellie and I just picked this up a week or so ago for the Meanie: Ellie's truck broke down on the way home but the trailer had nothing to do with that. I'm thinking we could even haul this thing with my Jeep Liberty. Attachments:

I'm in the market myself, I'm going to Denver in July for work and figured I'd haul the marauder up there for a few day in the mountains once the jobs over. My boss caught wind of my plan and decided I need to pick up him and his fat boy on my way there so now I need a trailer to haul two bikes

Hey, I won't complain. Three days in the mountains on the company dime is worth going out of my way to pick up a riding buddy. My wife is certainly happier about it since I won't be out alone

Wife and I are looking into a new Enclosed Trailer Looks like a 12x7 is going to be the size. Anyone else have an enclosed trailer and how does it tow weigh do you need an elec brake strapping the bikes down etc etc ? Just a few thoughts. I highly suspect you already know all of this stuff but perhaps it may help someone else. First off let me say that I don't have an 'enclosed' trailer, wish I did. Since my son and I are jet ski trailer rich, we quickly converted one of those to haul a motorcycle when needed. As to your questions, normally we would want more info like what are you towing with, single or tandem axles on the trailer, etc. Since you mentioned 'new', 'enclosed', and '7x12' as a size that tends to answer some of those questions. As soon as the width goes to 7 foot wide most if not all trailer manufacturer's make those only with tandem axles. Nowadays they also automatically include trailer brakes with those. Do you actually need trailer brakes, perhaps not in a lot of situations but it would be foolish not to have them hooked up and functioning since they're there. You will need a brake controller in the towing vehicle. An excellent one is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3. www.etrailer.com/Brake-Controller/Tekonsha/90195.html?feed=npn&gclid=CNHCotDFhdICFY-LswodVLwG0QMost late model vehicles with factory ready towing packages come already set up for trailer hookups. Adding a brake controller is as easy as buying the wiring adapter specifically made for the towing vehicle and mounting it. Making the trailer motorcycle ready. It certainly helps to have tire chocks installed. You already know to use this type... www.harborfreight.com/1800-lb-capacity-motorcycle-standwheel-chock-61670.html You also know to turn the chock lock around backwards with a reaper fender so it doesn't damage it. I would have the bike in place the first time before installing the chock lock to make sure it will clear the reaper fender. For other folks here I don't recommend anyone using the following type because it's not wide enough to let the large diameter front brakes discs go in without binding against them. www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-wheel-chock-60392.html You will also need to strap the bikes down to keep them in place. They tend to move around from bumps etc. just like they do on a open trailer...just not near as much since they are not subjected to wind forces and the suspension of a tandem axle setup absorbs mush more of the bumps etc. If the trailer doesn't have d-rings installed already you will need to install something to strap down to. Needless to say but the attachment points need to be connected through the metal cross-members under the floor. Just a thought about when the need arises to use the trailer for other purposes than to haul motorcycles. The most common length being produced is a 16 footer and because of that abundance it is more readily available and usually can be bought for only a couple of hundred more than a 12 footer. Just something to think about. Good luck Jimmy and let us know which one ya get.
